As you strive to reach ever-greater levels of success for your business, you need a partner who is capable of guiding you toward achieving your goals. Gregory J. Schwartz understands the pitfalls and challenges you may face along the path to success. He is committed to helping you map out the course and reach your goals.

Known for his detail-oriented approach, tenacity and personal touch, Schwartz has been a trial lawyer for over 18 years in state and federal court. He works exclusively for insurance policyholders in bringing claims against insurance companies for covered losses.

Schwartz has handled insurance coverage matters for mass tort, environmental, products liability, employment, fire, hail, and employee theft claims. For example, he obtained coverage from Evanston Insurance Company for a tank excavation client for massive personal injury and property losses stemming from a natural gas explosion that destroyed an apartment building. He was the insured’s trial lawyer in Scottsdale Ins. Co. v. Woolsulate, where the court awarded $1.0 million in indemnity coverage and over $350,000 in attorney’s fees to the insured for asbestos liabilities. He was lead counsel in Hobart Brothers Company v. National Union, twice before the Appellate Division, involving coverage for environmental cleanup. And he was a member of the trial team in Princeton Gamma-Tech v. Hartford Ins., a landmark, trial court victory involving bad faith refusal to pay for a Superfund cleanup.

In addition, Schwartz handles complex commercial cases for businesses. He routinely handles products liability, environmental, construction and employment litigation. He was co-trial counsel to the employer in a No Cause verdict in favor of a surgical practice in defense of state whistle blower claims pending in the Superior Court. He has won several bid challenges on behalf of contractors under the Local Public Contracts Law.

Schwartz has authored many articles in his fields of practice. Before forming his own firm, he was Of Counsel at Robertson, Freilich, Bruno & Cohen, LLC, a spin-off of the former 80-lawyer Hannoch Weisman, P.C. in Roseland, New Jersey, where Schwartz was an Associate. He also worked as a Litigation Associate at Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. in Morristown, New Jersey.
