GREGORY J. SCHWARTZ has been a trial lawyer for over 15 years in state and federal court. He works exclusively for insurance policyholders in bringing claims against insurance companies for insured losses. He has handled insurance coverage matters for mass tort, environmental, products liability, employment, fire, hail, theft and retirement benefits claims. He was a member of the trial team in Princeton Gamma-Tech v. Hartford, a landmark bad faith trial court ruling in New Jersey in 1996. He was the lead trial lawyer in Scottsdale Ins. Co. v. Woolsulate, where the court awarded $1.0 million in indemnity coverage to the insured in June 2005. In addition, Mr. Schwartz handles complex commercial cases for claims involving fraud, shareholder derivative suits, minority shareholder actions, breach of contract and breach of warranty. He routinely handles products liability, environmental, construction and employment litigation. He was co-trial counsel to the employer in a No Cause verdict in favor of a surgical practice in defense of state whistle blower claims pending in the Superior Court of New Jersey in 2005.
Mr. Schwartz regularly counsels clients on business compliance issues in the formation and operation of corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships. He helps clients navigate complicated environmental, construction and employment laws and regulations.
Mr. Schwartz has authored many articles and publications in his fields of practice. Before forming his own firm, he was Of Counsel at Robertson, Freilich, Bruno & Cohen, LLC, a spin-off of the former 80-lawyer Hannoch Weisman, P.C. in Roseland, New Jersey, where he worked as an Associate. He also worked as an Associate at Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. in Morristown, New Jersey.
